Together, we can build a stronger, more sustainable Saint Lucia — one project at a time.
This project is an independent tribute inspired by the life and work of Sir William Arthur Lewis and Sir Derek Alton Walcott. The LWIS Project is named after them as a tribute to their enduring legacy. Sir Lewis and Sir Walcott represent the pride and honor of their homeland, and by carrying their name, we hope to give their people a symbol that strengthens dignity and belonging around the world. This project is an independent initiative and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Sir William Arthur Lewis and Sir Derek Alton Walcott or their estate. We hold no rights to the name and will respectfully comply with any request from the family or estate regarding its use.
Lewis Walcott
International School of Saint Lucia
(LWIS)
The establishment of this educational institution is to honour and celebrate the exceptional contributions of Saint Lucia’s two Nobel laureates – Sir William Arthur Lewis in Economics and Sir Derek Walcott in Literature.

The Three Pillars of LWIS
The school set itself apart with unique curriculum that emphasizes three main pillars: knowledge of God, real-world money-management skills, and the advantage of learning Chinese.
KNOW GOD
Knowing God from a young age helps children develop a strong moral compass, allowing them to navigate this life with purpose and clarity.
MONEY MASTERY
With the knowledge of God as a foundation, children learn money management applicable to real-world situations – allowing them to take control of their future and to use money for good.
LANGUAGE ADVANTAGE
Proficiency in Mandarin offers advantages and opens opportunities in various global sectors, enhancing professional and personal growth.
ADMISSION
English-language-based and Mandarin-supplemented, LWIS serves and educates students from Grade 1 through Grade 12 from the local and expatriate community in Saint Lucia.

FOR THE PEOPLE OF SAINT LUCIA
Once completed, the school will be operated and managed by the Saint Lucia Education & Development Group Inc. during the initial three years. Trainings focused on transfer of operation and management to the people of Saint Lucia will take place during the third year. Full operation and management by Saint Lucia commences in the fourth year.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
To ensure completion of the school construction, funds will be pooled in the form of donations from Donors of three different types.
The three types of Donors are designed to ensure that the country attracts and retains quality individuals with a background in education, not simply just those with financial means.
The goal is to bring in intellectually engaged individuals who can contribute to the educational growth and future development of Saint Lucia.

EDUCATOR
Donors with experience or background in the field of education

PARENT
Parents of prospective students at the school

SPONSOR
any Donor who stands for the values of the school
POSITIVE REPUTATION & IMAGE
A school constructed in honour of Saint Lucia’s Nobel laureates will elevate the country’s positive image and international reputation by associating the country with the high standards, intellectual excellence, and global recognition inherent in the Nobel Prize

LASTING BENEFITS
In addition to gaining a positive reputation and image for Saint Lucia, the school, during its construction and upon its completion, will be the lasting allure and pride to the people of Saint Lucia, continually attracting individuals and families to relocate to the beautiful island nation for its quality education.
